An IT company set a sales incentive to reward their distributors and internal staff working on a specific programme ‘Need for Speed’.
The client required a destination within Europe which would link with their new incentive scheme ‘Need for Speed’. Linking this theme with fast cars it was decided that the Barcelona F1 Grand Prix fitted in best, budget-wise, dates-wise and for access from the various European offices attendees were travelling from.
The group stayed at the 5* Pullman Barcelona Skipper hotel in Port Olimpic. On arrival day the group undertook a full training session at the hotel prior to an enjoyable bicycle city tour taking in the main city sights including La Cathedral, the Gothic Quarter, La Sagrada Familia (perhaps one of the most famous sites), Parc de la Ciutadella and the World Trade Centre port area. The tour finished at a fabulous tapas restaurant for dinner.
Sunday was the BIG day at the Circuit de Catalunya. Seats were obtained in stand K which is just after the start line overlooking two other bends to catch all the action. Providing sun cream, earplugs and rain ponchos (just in case!) the afternoon was filled with excitement, cheering and beers.
The final night enjoyed pre-dinner drinks and a private dinner at Farga Gran Via. This was close to the hotel so perfect for those wanting to return for an early night post dinner (just a short walk). The rest of the group headed to the Barceloneta Marina area for some drinks and dancing. Barcelona, particularly on Grand Prix weekend, is buzzing and even on the Sunday night there is plenty going on and most of our guests continued to party until the small hours!
”Well, what can I say? Once again your creativity, planning, preparation, budget control and is without any complaint. Flawless. Thanks for all your support and please thank all of your team on my behalf.”
